Join Hands DayIn 2006 RALM organized a Thrivent "Join Hands Day" event with our partner churches to fill a semi with needed supplies for continued Hurricane Katrina Relief! What would happen if a group of churches recognized, and worked together to address, community problems and needs?

What if these same churches pooled their financial and people resources to get the job done?

What if congregations got together to work and play, to worship and praise, to laugh and have fun and . . . get the job done?

That’s what Rockford Area Lutheran Ministries has been doing since 1985 in the Rockford community and beyond.

RALM has a long tradition of outreach and service to our congregations and our community. In partnership with other area non-profits and through new and imaginative ministries we are transforming the wider Rockford community by providing teenagers with everything from free prom dresses (Becca's Closet) to job, leadership and conflict management training (Park PLAYers). With other agencies we are working to revitalize the community with a new coffee bar on 7th street (Katie's Cup) and partnering to build 15 homes (Habitat for Humanity) to date.
